9 P.M. | Bluegrass | $5 Cover | 21+ up

Join us on Saturday, Nov. 16 at 9 P.M. for live music by The Smokin' Dobroleles! They are a unique bluegrass/acoustic string band with the Dobro, resonator ukulele, double bass, flattop guitar, drums and saxophone/flute slinging original melodies and stylistic jams!

Background:

Abe, Mike and Merle started picking together early spring of 2016 and with that, The Smokin Dobroleles were born. With their diverse influences and unique instrumentation they create an acoustic sound all their own. Kittie joined full time early summer with some much needed low end. The band has been very busy playing shows around west MI in 2016 and really polishing the songs they play. Abe Kurzer on dobro, Mike Renna on ukulele, Merle Seelhoff on guitar and Kittie Tuinstra on bass, often adding Drew Najor on mandolin and guitar and Jeff Johnson on flute and saxophone. Mike Renna writes many original songs and the group plays a wide array of covers as well, everything from reggae, bluegrass, jazz and country with a sprinkling of the Dead. Improvisation is a strong element in their performances and they are always adding new songs to their repertoire. The Smokin' Dobroleles rarely pass on an opportunity to play or collaborate with other artists and are highly focused on sharing their passion for the the beautiful thing we know as music!
